However, the component outputs would be sweet for viewing on my home network.

Brian

Comments on

I think the jist of this is that it will accept HD component inputs (from satellite, cable, OTA, etc). Very, very sweet if true. The RIAA might get to them and those HD components mysteriously turn into just 480p. Very few if any devices have HD component inputs. The *analog hole* as they like to call it.

Jim

Comments on

Those are component inputs - and the Slingbox Pro already has those if you use the HD Connect (I do with my TiVo Series 3). And yes, HD component input is down-sampled to 640x480 before being streamed locally - 320x240 remotely. The horsepower and bandwidth to sling HD isn't here yet.

Also - this box has a built in cable-modem and a tuner that does NTSC/PAL/SECAM. Read the full manual and FCC test report. ;-)

MegaZone

Comments on

Why would anyone want to buy this unit if they already have the HD interface for the pro? The Slingbox pro has componet in/out on the dongle. I like the red-brick color and the HDMI input dongle. I have been less impressed by the supposed HD output stream. Also, why not work on something like the Clip and Sling interface and stop taunting up???

I want my true HD recorder (software wise)!!!

HD wanto be
