blu-ray, hd-dvd, it doesent matter, The media for these are way to expensive atm. I dont mind spending $400 on a burner despite the fact that that will be $50 and way better in just 2 years, but there no way im spending $10+ a disc. I got into DVD burning when they where $2 a disc, and just recently got into DL burning when I managed to pick some up for $1 a disc.
shop4tech has dl for less than a $1. Actually comes in around .80 now if you buy 300 at a time. You can look up their 10% coupon online.
Watch out though. They're matrix dvd's and are kind of sensitive about which burners they work in so I'd just get 25 the first time.
Blu-ray media is coming down fast. We've managed to get 50gb disks at $11 a piece though we were buying 1000 disk lots and you can't always find it at that price so you just get as many as you can when you see a good price. It takes almost 2 hours to burn one disk, but even when we where using dvd-dl we had to have a person constantly swapping disks and he couldn't do any other work during back-up days. This frees up one mans time for almost a week and a half every month so the extra price of the disks is cheaper that hiring an extra man
