Just in case a
dedicated tracking site wasn't proactive enough for you,
Sony has just unleashed its own Blu-ray disc releases iCalendar, which as you may expect, automatically updates your calendar of choice with the most recent details regarding future BD
release dates. The free application incorporates data from Buena Vista, Disney, EIV, Entertainment UK, and Fox, and will be supported by iCal, Google Calendar, Windows Calendar, Outlook 2007, Lotus Notes 6+, Mozilla Sunbird & Lighting, and Entourage. So if you're interested in cramming one more reminder in that overloaded planner of yours, go on and hit the read link to get your download on.

Eh, Think I'll stick with ComingSoon.net

Oh boy, another product with a pointless lower case I before the name.
carlos @ Aug 6th 2007 5:47PM
The calendar is supported by iCal for OS X hence the "i" name. Does the calendar include the date when HD DVD will die?
Michael @ Aug 6th 2007 6:15PM
Don't you remember? They already claimed it did, hahaha.
Jason @ Aug 6th 2007 6:10PM
Doesn't work.
"The address that you provided did not contain a calendar in a valid iCal format."
Jason @ Aug 6th 2007 6:12PM

Ken @ Aug 6th 2007 6:14PM
Yeah, as long as it has free rootkit, I'll download it.

Man, what is the age demographic here, 12 - 15?
Every single posting about Blu-Ray or HD-DVD gets way off topic and turns into a flame war. I understand people are passionate about their format of choice but this is pathetic.
I come here to read about what is new in the Hi-def world and every single post about Blu-ray turns into a flame war whereas most of the HD-DVD threads seem relatively calm.
Why is their so much trolling especially on Blu-Ray news?
domerdel @ Aug 6th 2007 7:25PM
I see it the other way around... HD-DVD fans are probably the most paranoid and defensive in the bunch, whenever the number count is wrong, they come in swarms...
borland502 @ Aug 7th 2007 9:06AM
*shrug* Basic human stupidity sir, compounded by the Internet. You'll find the same wherever opposing fans on sports, beer, women, movies, cars, politics, etc congregate.
The Blu Ray hostility is because its star is rising and it is more popular right now. So its fans are smug and its opponents are defensive. Should the position reverse in a Jeebus like miracle, you can expect the opposite to be true.

This is for the Europe release dates. Doesn't help us here in North America too much
DeadPlasmaCell @ Aug 6th 2007 7:41PM
I don't think so, Every time there is HD-DVD news you have the Blu-Ray fanboys getting all crazy shouting the usual "HD-DVD is dead, the format war has been over for a long time" or "Another nail in the coffin" It's just weird they'd get so fired up over something that's supposedly dead in the water (only according to fanboys though) Ne who that being said I have neither Blu-Ray or HD-DVD. I had a PS3 a few months back, but sold it because there were no games to play on it besides MotorStorm & Resistance. I never got to try Blu-Ray because BlockBuster never had any movies in stock to rent.

"It's just weird they'd get so fired up over something that's supposedly dead in the water"
It's not weird my friend, only egotistical. As long as you have HD-DVD faithful, you will have Blu-Ray faithful being sore winners. Even if both formats co-exist you will probably have a Mac vs. PC divide.
Besides, you are hardly neutral yourself. Anyone using the word "fanboy" is automatically suspect.
The only way to take the moral high ground is not to argue in the first place.
PS I know HD-DVD is not dead. But unless it pulls a rabbit out of its hat, it is on the decline.
MegaZone @ Aug 6th 2007 9:47PM
Note that this calendar is for UK BD releases - not US releases.
h0mi @ Aug 6th 2007 10:18PM
So this is sony Europe or sony UK not "sony".
bplah. A good idea though, and if you live in the appropriate area, good for you.
