It is certainly prettier that the previous interface, but there are several cases where one is required to arrow and click more than previously. Of particular note is the ability to customize the jump forward/backward time intervals (nice). Also, they moved closed captions to a menu item, rather than that silly: turn the box off, hold a button, turn the box on, change setting and turn off/on again. It would be nice if I could find a single button to toggle CC, but not yet.

Overall, I like the new interface.

G.

01000111

Comments on Verizon begins rollout of FiOS Interactive Media Guide

The new guide couldn't possibly suck any worse. It is so horrible. Too cluttered, too many colors, and that stupid magnifier thing in the middle drives me nuts. It takes many more clicks than before to do simple things. I used to be able to be looking at the guide and then hit a channel number to see what is on the guide on that channel, no more is that possible. The guide always defaults to channel 7. When I use favorites I always get the full guide instead of the half guide (which i prefer). Most importantly, it just hurts my eyes to look at it. What is with all the colors? Simpler is better, they should have left it alone.

Sheri Ragen
