what the hell are you talking about? why would NOW after more than a year, would the lead start to narrow? because they're getting cheaper? i'm not sure if you've been under a rock this last year, but hd dvd players have ALWAYS been cheaper, and yet they still continue to get outsold. The price can only drop so much, and the thing is blu ray players are starting to get right on their heels in terms of pricing now. 400 new for the hd-a20 and 500 for the sony...not a huge difference there. even 300 for the hd-a2 and 500 for the sony isn't too bad for most people. its only a $200 gap now, not $500 from a year ago
Simba see the data i just put up and see the gap narrow. And yea HD DVD has been cheaper but the HD DVD players are now entering the magic price points that certain customers have been waiting for...$299 and soon $199.
But even at $299..that is a larger consumer base then the $499 consumers
