Perhaps he was simply trying to reassure content providers that Blu-ray's BD+ is more secure and it is what stands Blu-ray apart from HD-DVD, which has no secondary security measure outside of AACS; we know how those studios love them some DRM. None of the encryption alogrithms themselves have been reverse engineered or defeated.  The hack is that somebody(s) was smart enough to figure out where the keys were stored in RAM, and published them.
