Why are these so expensive? www.firefold.com has 4 port switches for like $50.
I don't get how or why it can support 1.3a or any specific HDMI version ... aren't they just directly connecting the input to the output? Why would it need to process anything? I could build an HDMI switcher with tin foil, paper clips and a cardboard box.
as I understand it, HDMI *prior* to 1.3 required a pixel clock speed of no more than 165MHz. However, the 1.3a spec could require to 340MHz depending upon what you want to push over the wire -- e.g., deep color at 1080p.
