Still making it unafforable. It was one of the first LED backlit displays on the market.<br><br><br>I've seen the Sony display in person it is quite fantastic. Samsung has local dimming while the sony does not.  That is why its twice the cost of the sony.  Either way, I wouldent spend even 33k on a tv. I just pre ordered for $999.00, the 10 Free hi-def flicks might offset the price impact. I have not found any offers or rebate anywhere.
