BTW, the cheapest I've seen the HD-A2 is on Amazon, where earlier this week it was on sale for $249.99 plus $19 shipping from a vendor. Does this unit play regular DVDs too?
It says it upconverts them, but I can't tell it will do that by running a feed from another regular dvd player.
If so, what's wrong with a 100-150 buck gamble that HD DVD will win the format war?

Remote could be jazzier but I'm eventually going to move to a Universal Remote.

Once Blu-ray gets down to this level I'll snatch one of those.

I still believe that with all the Big Studios supporting BR, especially the family friendly titles that will come from Disney, that BR will be winning the war based on Volumne and selection of titles. Blu-ray already has over 15% more movie titles out than HD DVD and likely will keep releasing more every month being as they have more studios supporting them.

It may be lame to return a year-old HD DVD player, but Cohtco shoppers used to buy PLASMAS and then return them two years later for full credit and buy the newer models. Which is why they changed their policy on TVs.
