32-inch Plasmas on the way?
LCDs seem to be all the rage these days and while everyone loves to debate LCD vs Plasma, for the most part they are not available in the same sizes. Of course this has changed a lot in the past year or two as LCD TVs have gotten bigger and bigger (so have Plasmas), but for the first time since we can remember, Plasmas might be getting smaller too. DigiTimes is reporting that according to an LG executive, they will be introducing a 32" PDP (37" is currently the smallest) display during the second half of 2007. This only makes sense considering the manufactures have already figured out how to get those pixels closer together for all those 1080p models, and there is still some room for competition in the 32-inch and over market.

Not much sense in making a 32" plasma unless they've found some way to make it cheaper and undercut LCDs in pricing. LCDs are eroding away market share in the 42" segment, and looks like they're aiming for 50"+ next. Also, wasn't it reported LG shutting down one of its factories producing plasmas?
