that's my point. Both blu-ray and HD-DVD use the same encoding so why on earth would you pay around 2+ times the amount of the HD-DVD drive to buy a blu-ray player when they are the exact same thing and the first wave of blu-ray were even inferior using the old mpeg2 coding and the reviews gave it to HD-DVD.
SO blu-ray claiming to be superior is just crap and trying to justify the extra cost when they are the same thing. Plus if you say size that is not necessarily true seeing how most companies use the single layer 25gig BD-ROM and most companies use the 30gig HD-DVD? Not to mention why tout and claim "we have more space" if you aren't even gonna use it?
I am for HD-DVD all the way plus i hate how cocky and arrogant Sony and the blu-ray camp are being they need to be humbled and deflate that monstrous ego seeing how pretty much every format sony has made has died off.
the one who lowers the price the most to a resonable price will most likely win. Plus i think hd-dvd has a better library especially this sumemr. HEROES, BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, LOTR, MATRIX, etc..

"I think it's funy that blu-ray is supposed to be superior and looks exactly the same on HD-DVD"
It's the same encode, McFly! Warner is not using BDs extra capacity since they only want to make one encode for both formats.
