ABC.com unveils HD-ish online video player

ABC sure is embracing this whole "Internet" thing with their new online player. They call it HD and while it looks good, we aren't quite sure what resolution it is; kind of neat though. The whole thing has a slick interface that lets you choose what show your going to watch via a scrolling dock gizmo. Once it launches you can choose from four different sizes, including one that's full screen and HD-ish. Even though it might not be the HDTV in your living room, it's still a slick way to catch missed ABC shows.

I will have to give this a test drive. The only reason I would consider torrenting a show is to see it at HDish quality.

The only problem is that their new player doesn't work under Linux. Their old one did just fine. At least they still give Linux users the option of using their old player.

Doesn't work with Windows Vista unfortunately. A huge omission.

Thank you, ABC...the lack of a fullscreen option was glaring when I was watching the rest of the episodes of Day Break earlier this year.

*Yawn*. Only works in USA.
