Seriously there is no way that Hddvd has enough support to carry it anywhere from this point. Price of players is all they have right now. Once Funai(http://www.funai-corp.com/) starts producing their players that is over too. Seriously people quit waisting your money on Hddvd, what's the point? Toshiba isn't going to help pay your bills, neither will the BDA, but at least the BDA isn't waisting your lunch money.

Bill

Comments on Edge of Light Media opening Blu-ray doors for independent films

Exactly.
Blu-ray not only delivers more, but has way greater future improvement space.
I was thinking why should we even consider hd dvd at all...

Dave

Comments on Edge of Light Media opening Blu-ray doors for independent films

Delivers more? Like IME? No.... Network interactivity? Nope... Cheaper prices? Naw... Oooh, but it has a shiny 50 gigs! And don't forget BD+, a better, stronger DRM! Yay!!!

Give me a break. Support whatever format you want, but the only "advantage" BD has is an extra 20 gigs of space, which has already been proven to be unnecessary for movies. And yes, yes, I know, BD will have the same features as HD DVD sometime in the near future... Supposedly.

Enjoy your FOX movies. Oh wait, they aren't releasing them anymore for some reason...

Xyzzy

Comments on Edge of Light Media opening Blu-ray doors for independent films

My need to backup DVDs(I legitly own over 300, and if my house burns, gets robbed I'm screwed) and sony's obsession over DRM scares me away from blue ray.. that's it.. I don't mind if they win.. hopefully they get cracked up the ass by hackers, then I would go out and buy one without a worry. That's the reason I wanted hd to win.. oh and the crap of them after a few months of good sales having reps come out and claim over and over all week long how they won the war, trying to trick the gullible into giving up on hd if they like it, and making people who are planning to make a future purchase of HD DVD to change there mind because of stories of sony winning(coming from sony)

Since most people of the world are extremely gullible, this was a sadistic, sad, but effective more for sony.. Damn bastids.

Atsui
