Why do people call 1366x768 resolution 720P instead of 768P? BTW, Costco lists it for $2900 and this week they had a special for members to get it for about $2650. Not bad for a 60" 768P plasma with built in tuner and four HDMI inputs.

Because there's no such thing as 768p HDTV content. The broadcast standard is 720p - 1280x720. Yes, 768p more accurately describes the resolution of the panel, but unless you're using it as a computer monitor you're watching scaled 720p content.
