Samsung, one of the biggest and baddest LCD makers anywhere, is stating that LCD TVs should continue their downward price trend for sometime. It wasn't that long ago that 32-inch panels could easily cost you more then two grand but now even Radio Shack sells 'em for less then $900. Who knows when we are going to see them in-line with CRT models - 19-inch around $150, 27-inch around $275, 32-inch around $500. Everyone needs a flat screen around their homes and maybe if flat screens continue to drop, our idea of HDTVs in the bathroom could become come place.

I see 32" under $500 all the time. Problem is it will take a 37" to look the size of my 27" crt...and if I am going to get a new tv..I want to go bigger so I need a $600 42" or better yet $1000 47".
Lets hope some new displays bring prices down.

There was a time when it was common for CRT TV's to be priced less than the same sized CRT monitor. Once the LCD market is mature it would be reasonable to expect this relationship to reestablish itself.
(cue great gnashing of teeth by LCD panel makers)
