Is Microsoft really the best organization to convince indie filmmakers?

I have found the Microsoft reps to be some of the most convincing representatives from either the BluRay or HDDVD camps. They are enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the product. From all the sources that I have heard they have been very helpful with getting the best results on the VC1 CODEC.
