We all know giving is better than receiving, but receiving is pretty freaking rad too, especially when you've been passing around Engadget gift guides to the fam. And now, as we ask every year: what'd you get this holiday season?
P.S. -Don't forget to check out what people got in the dark ages, namely 2005 and 2004.
Standard socks, underwear and 3 HD-DVDs. But also $600 to help me build a new C2D computer. My brother got his PS3, too bad my dad is dragging his feet on getting the LNS4095D we are supposed to get. The PS3 looks sad on our SDTV, and I wanna watch christmas vacation in HD on that TV. Love to see Gran Turismo HD concept, and GOW on it.
Samsung LN-S4051 HDTVLCD TV to replace broken 4 1/2 year old Hitachi 43" HD-Monitor RPTV. Great picture and 2 HDMI inputs for when the blu-ray/HD-DVD war settles out.
Astonishingly enough - a Tivo Series 3! This after four weeks of telling my wife they were too expensive.
We have had Tivos (a pair) for 5 years. Last summer I used my bonus to buy a 42" 1080P LCD, but Comcast's DVR was utterly intolerable, so we've watched very little of HD at all - with our schedules and the kids we just can't be in front of the TV when things are on.
Now I gotta squeeze some CableCards out of Comcast. Wish me luck.
I got a DS Lite, New Super Mario Bros., Mario& Luigi: Partners In Time, Action Replay DS, 1GB SD card, SuperCard SD, Xbox 360 (Premium), XM car kit, 4 cooking related books, FF:APOC shirt, a IIO cd, GuildWars Nightfall, and a Belkin F5D7050 (RT73) 54G USB adapter.
Oh, and as Wilmer Valderama would say: "$100 cash moneys"
Nothing fancy, just a 2ft by 3ft dry erase board with markers, a roll of purple duct tape, a roll of red duct tape, Trans-Siberian Orchestra boxset, V for Vendetta the movie, some chocolates, some popcorns, an electric razor... and yeah that's about it :P None of these laptops or new TVs or Wiis my friends got >.>
Got a Pioneer 50" plasma + wall mount and low-boy cabinet, pluse a PS3 and a handfull of BRD's. Best yet - a handfull of brand new vinyl LP's and a few SACD's.
