As for the "HD-Lite"; that is not do to the receiver... that is a "broadcast" issue... and not exclusive to DirecTV. DishNetwork has the same issue, as do some cable-co's.
So nothing is going to fix that until more bandwith is aquired (which is happening in 2006); The HD's are converted to MPEG-4; Or you start to drop some of the channels that are taking up space.
