Multistream CableCARDs still coming soon
Multistream CableCARDs are still on their way, no these aren't the 2.0 variety, but simply a 1.0 card that has the ability to decode two streams simultaneously with one card. This is an important feature for dual tuner DVRs like the new Series3 and starting in January TiVo and their competitors can start to have CableLABS verify their hardware on the new cards. The current Series 3 are supposed to support the new M-Card and will save you the hassle and the cost of two cards.[Via PVR Wire]

Does this mean the Series3 now can record 4 shows at once?

No, it still only has 2 tuners. This essentially gives 2 keys from a single card.

I think I am not alone here when I say that CableCard multistreaming is going to desired for those running Vista Mediacenter, which will support CableCard functionality for HTPC PVR activities.
