I also hope Engadget was being facetious when saying the $99 price was low, low for a lousy 6' feet of cable. I can get 25' for $35 at monoprice.com.
The only question is, is the PS3 port a Sony plug only port that they will sell licenses for so that Monster and/or a few other overpriced cable manufacturers are going to be creating the cables for?
As odd as it seems, Sony actually put a regular HDMI jack on the back of the PS3. I'm confused and scared too.
I like stuff like this because HDMI is a digital cable. Digital as in "1" and "0" or "on" and "off". The cable either works perfectly or doesn't work at all. There's no middle ground with interference.
