Gemstar-TV Guide has filed a federal patent infringement lawsuit against Diego's Moxi program guide, alleging that their TV listings are too similar to their own. Of course, Moxi has also filed an antitrust lawsuit against Gemstar. As usual, Gemstar wanted Moxi to license the program guide tech from them, and when Moxi refused, lawyers entered the picture, echoing
TiVO v. Echostar on the lawsuit front. Because Charter is one of the major cable providers using Moxi technology, they are included in the lawsuit --
although surely not just to get some bigger bucks out of any potential settlement. We'll keep you updated on the lawsuit as we know more.

This is ridiculous. Ask any Moxi user and they will tell you they WANT a grid guide! Believe me, the Moxi listings are no grid guide.

You can actually change the Moxi listings into grid guide, but it still doesn't make the DVR a terrible piece of equipment.
Charter needs to get with Tivo.

Pout, I have a new Moxi unit. Could you please tell me how to display a grid guide?

Ya the Moxi guide is nothing to write home about. It is good but I know there is better out there. That being said there is also never enough room on the Moxi's HDD (I still have on the the first Moxi's that came out in the area). But it does the job and records well. Just get us another update with a better guide!
