Inferior because of less support from CE manufacturers, content providers. 50GB vs. 30GB. Less thruput which means less bitrate for audio and video.

HD-DVD IS Inferior to Blu-ray Disc.

And HD-DVD is like giving even more money to M$ since they made HDi and VC1.

future blu-ray movies will also be encoded in VC1. early blu-ray releases used mpeg2 and had inferior quality to hd-dvd.
