BBC HD increasing amount of high-def programming

BBC is smack-dab in the middle of the HDTV trails over in London but that isn't stopping them from adding to their high-def lineup. The plan is to simulcast recently launched programs such as Robin Hood, The Amazing Mrs. Pritchard, and Torchwood along with the SD broadcast. The station is adding additional HD programming later in the year as well but we won't run down the entire long list which should suffice to say there is a bunch of new HD shows coming. Apparently the trial is going well otherwise we don't think the BBC would be dropping more cash for additional programming.

Too bad there are only two ways to get HD broadcasts in the UK and each cost upward of 300, the equivelant of $500 roughly. Not to mention a cheap decent sized HD Ready TV costs 600, roughly $800 +.

I get BBC HD as I'm a Sky HD Subscriber. This is good news but I find the problem is that BBC don't put "Also on BBC HD" things on the SD programmes or when they do the "whats on now on the other BBC Channels" they don't list whats on BBC HD. Not to mention the channel is 40 channel numbers away from BBC 1, 2, 3 and 4 so if I'm just flicking I just don't get that far!
The result is that I normally end up "accidently" watching the SD version when I could be watching the HD version.
There are other shows that should be in HD that aren't. Like Match of the Day, all Premiership football is recorded in HD and as MOTD consist of highlight from this footage and a two camera studio I don't see why it can't be done? They do it for live England games!
But all that said, the Content is supreme. As you would expect from the BBC. Planet Earth, Galapagos, Later with Jool, the Proms... when I want to show off Sky HD I use BBC HD.

MAIN ERROR:
The BBC is trialling the channel ALL over the UK, not just to the Londoners, and a lot of people in Europe can get it with their dishes pointing in the right direction!
BBC-HD is available to anyone who can see the Astra satellite and has a DVB-S2 box. Also anyone around the UK with a Telewest HD box can get it too

Maff Mace is correct im currently viewing BBC HD on a 50inch DLP on a FTA H.264 satellite reciever here in Wales.
I await the day I can say Wales has OTA HD but that doesnt seem likely.
