While not scientific, numbers don't lie! Why would a person spend twice as much on a product that gives you the same thing for half as much. Gamers like to have the latest and greatest, but any gamer I know would not purchase a SLI (2 video card system) that gives you almost exactly the same performance as one card. No one can justify the increase in price without an increase in performance it just wouldn't make sense.
