One of the two TV shows needed to
bring women to high definition is now going 720p.
The View will switch to HDTV format September 5 as they add new host Rosie O'Donnell. While
Oprah is still in SD, ABC also broadcasts
Good Morning America in high def. Jessica Simpson will be a special guest on the episode, in case you needed a better reason to get up before noon other than seeing Barbara Walters (
but not Star Jones) in 720 stunning vertical lines of resolution. With MHD, Food Network and now daytime television following primetime programming to HDTVs, the day when your mother/daughter/sister calls you to ask "What do you think about LCD vs. plasma TVs?" draws that much closer.

That would be stunning HORIZONTAL lines of resolution ....
Richard Lawler @ Aug 24th 2006 9:11PM
The lines I'm referring to do run horizontally across the screen, but they are usually counted vertically.

There are definitely however, 720 of them. Sorry for any confusion caused
DiabloArt @ Aug 24th 2006 10:42PM
Great Rosie in HI DEF, someone shoot me!!
Mark @ Aug 24th 2006 10:59PM
Who gives a crap about how you count them.....even more...who gives a crap that The View is going HD? Wow....Rosie and Barb in HD....It's about time! Thank god Star Jones is no longer on the show. They probably were waiting for her to leave.
"I'm Star Jones........and I'm a lawyer."
Intergalactic @ Aug 24th 2006 11:26PM
I think he meant that he will be able to see very clearly all those horizontal and vertical lines all over those women's faces...............
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
Get it?
They will realize how all their lovely anf gorgeous fat faces and wrinkles and surgical fixes are all going to be very visible, and the audience will be absolutelu shocked to find out just how ugly these people really are, even with make-up on their faces.
Rick Foster @ Aug 25th 2006 3:09AM
Great, next thing they want to do is to put the agruing and bickering in 5.1 surround sound....
Nipsey @ Aug 26th 2006 1:24PM
Noooooooooooooooooo...do not let my wife know about this...or my HD DVR will quickly get filled up with crap!!
Perrey Z. @ Aug 28th 2006 12:16PM
Great! another reason NOT to watch this awful show full of chicken heads with powdered breast milk. {if they produce any.}
Donna Gilbert @ Aug 28th 2006 10:19PM
I use to like The View, but NOT with Rosie O'Donald, I can't stand her mouth. I wasn't a Star Jones fan but I like her better then Rosie The Mouth
Sandy Nelson @ Aug 29th 2006 5:17PM
I don't understand why they let Star Jones leave. She was a true asset to the the show. She is intelligent, classy and a beatiful person. I miss her very much.
mary smith @ Sep 6th 2006 12:26PM
The show is not new! It seems that is the Rosie show with 3 co-host. These give aways are so rosie! I thought this show did not have to bribe people to show up to the show. I wasn't a Big fan of star jones, but I do believe their were other people you could have picked. Barbara,Barbara, you of all people should know where this show going.(In the toilet). I have caught a few minutes each day.(I only can take Rosie in small doses.) Today, she was kissing up to Elizabeth in regasrds to her husband. These give aways anf acting nicey-nice is LAME. ANYTHING IS BETTER THAN THE LAST TWO DAYS! hELP mE.
Sandy Fennell @ Sep 8th 2006 1:42PM
The new set for the show is TERRIBLE. The red section on the background wall is UGLY and so is the furniture. Rosie, keep talking over Barbara and you will be joining Star
Dee Chambers @ Sep 12th 2006 12:39PM
Good for Elisabeth for standing up to Rosie & Joy on
terrorism, etc.
Rosie is driving me crazy. She has to bring in the gays in every conversation. There surely were better
choices than her to join The View.
You go Barbara. If you ever watch America's Funniest Videos you would have seen dogs talking. They have said I Love You!!!!

Chris Roosa @ Sep 12th 2006 6:46PM
Just remember, it's not the Rosie show - it's The View with three other gals wonderful opinions. Let's not turn it into a lesbian show.
Chris Roosa @ Sep 12th 2006 6:48PM
It's not the Rosie show. Let's just remember that it's The View with three other wonderful opinions on this show. Please do not turn it into a lesbian show, keep that in your personnel life.
Robert Miles @ Sep 13th 2006 9:41PM
Barbra,
I'm a minority viewer....(male) so as a minority I believe my voice should be given some inclusive priority. In choosing Rosie as the new host of the view you have thumbed your nose at the people across america that used to watch this program for it's interaction and opinion. Now we get a big pile of propaganda and agenda. Please go back to 20/20
Barbara Labriola @ Sep 14th 2006 12:25AM
The first day of The View with Rosie I watched as I
saw it slowly turn into "The Rosie Show". I wanted
to give it a chance. AFter today though, I am
OUTRAGED. How can anyone equate Christainity and
Terrorism as the same? Perhaps it is that if you
do not have the "same view" as Rosie that is terrorism?
Thank God for Elisabeth standing up to her! I thought
this was to be a show with different views. I for one
will not be watching The View any longer.
arlenefrances @ Sep 14th 2006 12:54PM
Rosie...blah,blah,blah. Talk about taking over, where did everyone else go.I can't believe she will be allowed to continue on. If she doesn't leave
everyone else should just to protect your character. The View should be re-named The Blabbers or just plain air talk...
Lois Goodwill @ Sep 14th 2006 8:52PM
That is something to learn that we Christians are worse than the Islams who want to murder everyone that doesn't agree with their beliefs. We don't need Rosie O'Donnell. I hope she spells the demise of the show.
Joyce Adorno @ Sep 14th 2006 10:22PM
I WONDER IF THE EXECS. AT THE VIEW REALLY READ THESE COMMENTS? I HOPE THAT YOU WOULD TAKE A LOOK AT MY SUGGESTION AND CONSIDER IT. (I couldn't wait for the new season of The View. I liked the old set better, not as colorful, more like home. But change is good. I love Rosie, I missed her for the past few years, I was sorry when her show was no longer on TV.)
I WATCHED THE SHOW YESTERDAY WITH JEFF PROST FROM THE SHOW SURVIOR. AND THE NEW SEASON IS SEGREGATED INTO RACE.
WHEN THE VIEW FIRST CAME OUT IT HAD DIFFERENT RACES, BLACK, WHITE, ASIAN AND ages FROM YOUNG,& MIDDLE AGED WOMEN. NOW YOUR ADDED A GAY PERSONS VIEW, BUT SHE IS ALSO FAMOUS IN THE PUBLIC EYE.
I HAVE A SUGGESTION, FOR A 5TH PERSON TO BE ADDED, AN ORDINARY PERSON FROM THE GENERAL PUBLIC (NOT A FAMOUS RICH CELEBRATY)SO AN ORDINARY CITIZEN CAN DICUSS OUR POINTS OF VIEW, AFTER ALL ISN'T THAT WHAT THE SHOW WAS BASED ON ? DIFFERENT WOMENS VIEWS.
I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE MY POINT OF VIEW HEARD. AS A WORKING CLASS PERSON. NOT JUST FAMOUS PEOPLE WITH MONEY !!! THANKS.
Cecilia @ Sep 15th 2006 12:13PM
The View does not represent women of all walks of life, I am Hispanic and have written before of how The View doesn't recognize this. With Rosie represents the gay population but what happened for the Latin Women who are beautiful fun and confident. Have you at all considered this option of representing women of Hispanic background?
Linda @ Sep 15th 2006 2:51PM
Rosie is wonderful and she will stop some of the lesbian talk in due time. Elizabeth on the other hand has over stepped her bounds. She should not be able to make judgements on people's private decisions. I respect her right to feel the way she does but the problem is she thinks her opinion is the only one. Life will humble her. Please have her show some restraint. You will loose me as a viewer!
