'Jeopardy!' and 'Wheel of Fortune' going high-def in September
Some shows are just made for high-def especially when you consider the $4 million King World Productions and Sony Pictures Television are spending to enhance the sets of Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune. The two game shows are in the midst of a massive makeover before they both launch in high-def on September 11. That $4 million went to widen the sets, add more color to make that HD just 'pop,' and replace the Jeopardy monitor wall with a seamless projection system. This will make 'em the first game shows to go high-def and now all we need is for the Price is Right to go high-def. No, we aren't thinking about Bob Barker's beauties, but what's better then Plinko in high-def?[Via TV Squad]

Now we just have to get everyone to bug their local affiliate enough to invest in the upgrades needed to be able to handle showing syndicated HD.

Me: I'll take Crappy Media Owners for $1000 Alex
Alex: This company thinks they are too good to put their HD stations on cable
Me: What is "Sinclair Broadcast Group"?
Alex: Correct!

I wonder what percentage of local stations have the equipment in place to show syndicated high-def programming?
Also, I heard that the syndicated Seinfeld is going to get the high-def treatment.

I have been waiting for a long time for this. As the two most popular syndicated shows I don't think it's a waste of bandwidth. Why would this be any different than any other show broadcast on CBS or NBC or whatever local carrier carries them.
I agree with the other posts as we are probably at the mercy of our local carriers to actually broadcast the show in HD.
