Does it even upconvert to HD(MI) from other sources?

Is the wattage rating 'true', or inaccurate in typical Sony fashion? I know the ES series is less guilty than the mainstream Sony's in this and the tinny-sound regard, but still ...

Just curious whether this will be yet another half-hearted, stunted 'upgrade path' (keeps the business flowing!) from them :)
