Looks more and more likely everyday that Warner is soon to officially announce the release dates for Batman Begins, Harry Potter, & Terminator 3. Other websites have the front and back covers of the discs which show IME's (In Movie Experiences) on Potter and T3. Now if Universal could just get King Kong out by Christmas...BTW Is there ever any good news for Blu Ray owners? Oh thats right, they are getting 8 Below and Dinosaurs from Disney. OUCH!! What good is they're support if they arent gonna release the big guns when Blu Ray needs it the most?

Eric

Comments on HBO joins the HD DVD party on November 7th with The Sopranos

I think the problem with Sopranos being released on HD DVD is that the collection won't be complete. Granted they can go back and release the previous seasons, but I believe, not sure though, they switched to HD cameras around season 3 or 4. Sorry, but I don't want upscaled bullshit for seasons 1, 2 and maybe 3.

Rick Foster

Comments on HBO joins the HD DVD party on November 7th with The Sopranos

Don't worry,It doesnt matter as long as it was shot and mastered on film. Some shows are shot on film then mastered on video which means it cant be remastered in Hi-Def. I could be wrong but im pretty sure thats right. They dont have to use hi-def cameras for that. Paramount is remastering the original Star Trek series in Hi-Def for release on HD DVD because it was shot and edited on film, as well as Enterprise. They cant do that to the other Trek series such as Next Gen or Voyager because they were mastered on video.

Eric

Comments on HBO joins the HD DVD party on November 7th with The Sopranos

who cares, as long as HD DVD owners are getting sorpanos, that's all it matters!

TaiwaneseSTUD

Comments on HBO joins the HD DVD party on November 7th with The Sopranos

from IMDB:

Camera:
Panaflex Camera and Lenses by Panavision

Film negative format:
35 mm

Cinematographic process:
HDTV (1080p/24) (master format)
Super 35 (source format)

Printed film format:
Video (HDTV) (season 3-) (re-runs all seasons)
Video (NTSC) (seasons 1-2)

Aspect ratio:
1.78 : 1

WiFiSpy

Comments on HBO joins the HD DVD party on November 7th with The Sopranos

Bring on the HD-DVD Sopranos!
