If you could have one HD station, what would it be?
Yesterday's INHD2 topic got us thinking. There are tons of HD stations out there, well, maybe not tons, but at least a lot of 'em. The only issue is that if you don't have the right provider, then you might not be able to get it. Dish Network has the most stations but they don't even have everything. Dish is missing the INHD stations for one. Doesn't it just make you so angry that you are paying an arm and leg for their service but yet, you are still not getting the programming you want. .
So we are wonder what provider you have and what is the number one high-def station you want and they don't have?

What channel do I want WOW Chicagoland to add? Showtime-HD.
Big Sam @ Aug 3rd 2006 12:36PM
Which station shows the most football in HD (NCAA/NFL)? For me it would be a toss up between ESPN or one of the networks. I'm tempted to pick Fox because of 24 (and football) or CBS because of the CSIs (and their crappy football coverage) or ABC because of Lost (and college football).
(...ok and Desperate Housewives. Eva in HD is a good thing)
Big Sam @ Aug 3rd 2006 12:37PM
But the one I want the most that Comcast doesn't have is NFL-HD. No surprise there...
Big Sam @ Aug 3rd 2006 12:40PM
Oh wait, I'm Time Warner now. I might not even have the regular NFL Network much longer.
Mike S @ Aug 3rd 2006 12:43PM
I have to have Discovery HD Theater
Kevin M. @ Aug 3rd 2006 12:53PM
^NFL-HD doesn't show much HD at all.
Shooty @ Aug 3rd 2006 12:56PM
With the college football season about to start, I would have to say, ESPN2-HD on TimeWarner Austin, sent them a email yesterday asking if and when. Still waiting on response......
MadcapMagician @ Aug 3rd 2006 12:59PM
I have Insight. I am fairly happy with their HD offerings... If I had to ask for 1 HD Channel that we don't have, I would say that I demand TNT-HD. ESPN2-HD would be a close second.
I think that Insight has the right combination of HD channels right now with the following:
SHO/HBO HD
Local Channels
NBC
CBS
Fox
PBS (Must have)
WB
Universal HD
Discovery HD
ESPN HD
HDNET
HDNET Movies
I much prefer HDNET to INHD anyday. My brother in-law has Comcast, which has INHD vs. HDNET, I believe that there is a big difference in content between the 2.
TNT is important for sports (NBA, some college FB, and NASCAR) but also for movies, too. ESPN2 is important for the obvious sporting events, but I have a feeling that the items that they would show would be of the type that would typically not be in HD anyway. Can anyone confirm that?
Top choice for an HD channel that doesn't exist? Sci-Fi-HD...

Daniel Clausen @ Aug 3rd 2006 1:05PM
Sci-Fi HD, oh wait yea that doesn't exist yet. But seriously Stargate, Battlestar Gallactica, and Eureka in HD would be awesome.
_spike @ Aug 3rd 2006 1:18PM
I want Sci-fi HD.
Battlestar Galactica in HD?!? *drools*
Rick @ Aug 3rd 2006 1:46PM
The real question is, what channel you really should have but since the company that owns the station are little babies that you can't...FOX HD and I cant have it because of Sinclar!!
I really dont want FOX HD though. I hope Charter gets off their ass and get us INHD. I really want some hockey in high def this upcoming season and I believe that they are the network that shows OLN HD broadcasts.
erikcantu @ Aug 3rd 2006 2:24PM
Battlestar Galactica is in HD on Universal HD.
Chris @ Aug 3rd 2006 2:52PM
Time Warner needs to add ESPN2HD. Every ESPN and ESPN2 college football game will be broadcast in HD this year, but we'll be missing half of them on TWC.
If you're a TWC customer, and as fed up with their game of chicken as I am, shoot an email to the VP of Programming, Fred Dressler at fred.dressler@twcable.com.
jolard @ Aug 3rd 2006 4:48PM
Another vote for Sci-Fi HD, even though it doesn't exist. :) As for Battlestar Galactica being on UHD, yes it is and it looks amazing, but it is re-runs. I want first run BSG!
As for current channels, I would have to say HGTV-HD for my wife, and ABC for Lost for me, or Rave or HDNET if I had to chose one of the non-major networks.
Project Z @ Aug 3rd 2006 4:58PM
Same here, Sci-Fi Channel would be my first choice. I'd also like to see TBS, MTV, Bravo, and regular Discovery Channel.
klew @ Aug 3rd 2006 5:45PM
Didn't I read here that Food Network is getting an HD channel? If so, that must be mine.
Justin @ Aug 3rd 2006 5:58PM
I am with Time Warner in Rochester, NY. I would really like FOXHD, but it is a Sinclair thing. I would also like the HGTV-HD and National Geographic HD.
If I had a station that I would love to see next in HD, it would be A&E. I watch a lot of their shows. Unfortunately they are all reality stuff, so they wouldn't be in HD anyways. Check on Intervention on Sunday nights. That is a helluva show.
Eli @ Aug 3rd 2006 8:11PM
ESPN2-HD, Like the other poster said, with college football being broadcast in HD not having ESPN2HD in my area is really going to suck.
Gabe @ Aug 3rd 2006 10:08PM
I am on Charter and there are a lot of HD channels I would like, but none more than ESPN2 HD!
Ed Nolty @ Aug 4th 2006 12:20AM
I refuse to ask for one channel. There is no excuse not to have all of the channels. I like sports and finally got ESPN2. Now I want Universal HD for the US Open and TNT-HD for the NBA.
Eli @ Aug 4th 2006 5:14AM
Ed Nolty, I'll trade you my UniversalHD for your ESPN2HD and raise you my StarzHD.
Jason @ Aug 4th 2006 6:30AM
I have to agree that Sci Fi in HD would be hot.
Cloudscout @ Aug 4th 2006 10:47AM
After moving from Time Warner to Comcast territory, I really miss HDNet and HDNet movies.
I also hate the fact that they dumped Universal HD as soon as the Olympics were over and I get frustrated when they interrupt INHD2 programming in order to show FSN-HD events.
JimS. @ Aug 4th 2006 10:59AM
Yet another vote for the non-existant SciFi-HD!! Fridays would indeed be a spectacular thing then. In the interim, I would be happy with Discovery-HD or Universal-HD.
This means, of course, that I would have to actually pay for cable. Why did Voom go under (Rhetorical). Would it not be great to have EVERY HD channel possible in one subscription, with none of the SD channels to worry about...but I digress.
TJ @ Aug 4th 2006 12:28PM
Cox needs to give me ESPN2-HD!!! HDNET would be great, but ESPN2-HD is quite a bit higher on my list.
Bryan @ Aug 5th 2006 11:06AM
I have Dish Network. I would Like cinemax hd, tmc hd, and mtv hd.
Sergio @ Aug 9th 2006 1:56AM
My brother has Dish Network and they carry about 23 (and growing) HD channels vs. the 13 that Comcast gives me. But I have to say that SciFi (most of their shows are filmed in HD), Food Network and Bravo rank the top 3 on my wantlist. If I have to decide for one of them it would be SciFi.
Han @ Aug 23rd 2006 2:52PM
Bryan (from comment 27), Scott Greczkowski from satelliteguys.us, who has insider contact within Dish, is strongly hinting that CinemaxHD will come to Dish in the fall, see http://www.satelliteguys.us/showthread.php?p=648030#post648030. So I think part of your wish might come true.
Josh @ Sep 11th 2006 3:09PM

This line up was better than Cox for the same price.
The only i would like more would be more movie channels in HD
Mike Davies @ Sep 17th 2006 12:52PM
With my Directv line up the best picture by far is The Football on ESPN. I am still waiting for my local channels in HD I am only getting CBS and FOx out of New York
Wryker @ Sep 20th 2006 10:59AM
The following needs to be in HD (or at LEAST digital!)
Sic-Fi
USA
FX
Comedy Central
DIY
Bravo
many shows broadcast are shot in HD and yet the stations (sans DIY) are only analog!
