I don't think I've ever seen anything as sad as a 63" plasma with that tiny Bose system to go with it. If they can afford that plasma, they can probably afford a real sound system to go along with it.

#1: I'm the one who set up the system with the 63" plasma, even though it is not my house. Let me explain the Bose speakers. They bought them about 5 years ago, as the owners thought they were the best spekaers out there. Finally, once the TV was setup, I convinced them to invest in new speakers, and within the next few months, we'll be buying them. After shelling $11K for a TV setup, they need to wait a little bit before investing more money on speakers :).
TRUST ME, though, I've been telling them how crappy Bose is, and they're finally getting it.

#2, ah, that's great. I had to really work on a coworker last year who bought a 50" plasma to go to some real hifi stores to listen to music systems that would cost the same as a Bose setup. After he did, Bose was quickly crossed off the list of what to purchase (he went Denon receiver and Monitor Audio speakers, a very nice setup).

#3,
Exactly what I'm trying to do with my family friends, just clearly in a different order :). It's a shame they wasted all that money, though.
Does anyone know if the cables that Bose ran through the walls for the speakers are generic speaker wire that I can reuse for any system?
