HDMI 1.3 devices out just in time for Christmas

We know that many of you are waiting for HDMI 1.3 devices. That's cool 'cause some should be here soon. The standard was just approved and the maker of the HDMI 1.3 chips, Silicon Image, is sampling them right now. This means that there will be some CE devices sporting the upgraded port here before Christmas but not many. The Playstation 3 will be one of 'em but that is it as of now. Many manufacturers are waiting for CES '07 to announce their new products. Pioneer is stating that they will have A/V receivers and Blu-ray players out within the first quarter with the new standard.
We really don't see many people that want the new standard actually waiting for it. By the time device X is on the market, chances are would have already caved and got something different. Right?

Nope, I'll wait...I have that luxury in that I'm moving into a new house with an unfinished basement and my wife is letting me build up the bedroom down there into a media room, so I'm holding out for a reasonable 1080p projector and components. I will be holding out for the best tech... When I'm ready to buy, I'm sure there will be something that I'll have to forego, but to me, 1080p with HDMI 1.3 seems to be a good enough standard and within a year, 18 months, enough components should be out, working well together that I can choose something with confidence.

Don't forget PS3 will be equipped with 1.3. Another new technology for PS3 owners to work with.

PS 3? It will come with HDMI 3.9 didn't you know? It'll have Blu ray 3 and 10 cpu's? How? Because by the time you can actually buy one, all those technologies will be old news.
PS3 is "going to have" every new news item we mention for the next 3 years. The sad part is just that we'll never actually see PS3's for sale.

@ #2:
Owners of PS3 won't have to 'work with' HDMI 1.3. All of that is transparent to the end user. Plug and play... so far the earlier HDMI specs have worked just fine for my Cable box and DVD player to my TV. I expect 1.3 to be the same.

What the hell have you been smoking, eh?
PS3 is still on schedule for a Nov release and they recently started shipping units for testing:
