The World Cup didn't help LG.Philips Q2 sales

The World Cup was suppose to be the light at the end of the tunnel for many flat-panel manufacturers but even something that large couldn't help LG.Philips. They just recently posted a second quarter loss that exceeds $340 million. (wow!) The revenue could swing back up in the fourth quarter but many analysts expect this trend to be slow. This loss came at the hands of very hard competition and therefore lower prices. LG.Philips might not be alone in this boat ether; they are simply the first to report their numbers. There could very well be more flat-panel makers out there in the same situation.
