BTW, there is a lot more difference than a simple laser-pickup change. The processing power needed is substantially more. Both the Blu-ray and HD-DVD players are not much more than a computer in their own right.<br><br>BTW, this newsbit isn't about the standalone players, but the actual drives themselves meant for personal computers. What is amazing is that the 4X came out before I could even see the 2X on the shelves to buy.
