Comcast adds MHD and NESN HD to the Boston market [UPDATE]
Bob Colby, writer of Switchover Scenarios: Tracking the DTV Transition, has found some new HD stations and it looks like Comcast has been busy in the Boston area. It seems that they have launched two new high-def stations. MTV's high-def network, MHD, has been sited on 828. New England Sports Network high-def station, NESN HD, has been sharing INHD2s channel for some time but now gets its own station on 851. The funny thing though is that a reader at AVSFourms has confirmed the new stations but is also reporting that INHD2 is no longer on the channel guide.Anyone else have these stations available to them?
[thanks for the tip Bob]
[UPDATE: thanks for the main Boston Comcast thread]

Thanks for the shout-out, guys!
To add a bit more INHD2 info, the channel is stil up and live here, but all the program guide info has been removed (including the name of the channel). I was assuming that this was just to remove all the NESN pre-emptions, but someone on AVS was saying that INHD2 was due for deletion in July anyway (that's the first I've heard of that, I'm going to ask for a source), so perhaps something bigger is in the works.
One thing that might shed a bit of light; my program guide goes out two weeks, and I've noticed that the main INHD channel is about to become much less sports-centric (it was pretty much all sports for awhile). It's not just the MOJO block, a lot of the stuff you'd expect to see on INHD2 is coming back to INHD in the coming weeks. So just possibly they're getting ready for INHD2 to have less carriage. Too early to tell.

Mojo IS INHD2 now. Expect INHD1 to change to a new name in the near future.

in comcast in minnesota we just espn2 in HD finally. the process is indeed slow.

#4, the press releases for the MOJO block describe it as a block of programming (five series at the moment) on INHD, *not* a whole new channel. I know a couple of AVS posters are saying that, but I have not seen them produce any hard facts to back that up just yet. Do you have some for us?

aww man, you guys got good stuff, all we got down here in the Philly/Delaware valley/Cherry Hill Twp. area is some re-arrangment of channels, ESPN2-HD, and uh..........yup, that's it

Here in Seattle, they removed INHD2, and put up ESPN2. Im not happy, would rather have had INHD2. And how come no announcement? It was just removed from the channel guide and thats it..no message or anything else to let us know of the change. And why hasnt Comcast given us NGCHD? Thats been out for months....

Updating again - the schedule for 882 is now back up. Last night they even continued the NESN pre-emptions, no doubt to ease the transition.
Bob Colby @ Jun 16th 2006 7:39AM
Sorry.. I should have noted that 882 is INHD2 here in Boston.

i'm actually getting MHD, NESN, and ESPN2 as all new channels, in addition to inhd 1 and 2 here in the boston area. But none of the three new channels have had anything playing on them, they're just coming up black whenever i tune to them. it says that espn2 is supposed to carry hi-def world cup coverage, but i haven't seen that happen.

Im glad they ditched INHD2 in Seattle.... That LOGO SUCKED ASS! My plasma is thanking me now.

are you crazy?!?! Thank god I still have INHD2 down here in the philly/delaware valley/Cherry Hill twp. Where else would I get my fill of The Twilight Zone when INHD2 is gone??? And Ultimate Access (but only the rollercoaster one)
and yeah..........that's it I guess. Nothing much else on inhd2
