The earliest 1080p HD DVD player won't come for several months. They haven't even announced plans for one. All Blu-ray players will include 1080p output. There's 4 announced for between now and early November (Samsung, Sony, Pioneer, and Panasonic), and rumors are that there are at least 9 brands, some with more than 1 model, expected by year's end. Even better, a couple should be priced competitively with the low-end Toshiba ($500-$600).
