It should be illegal for cable companies to *blackmail* affliates into paying them to broadcast HD. With Dish Network consistantly adding HD channels (local and national), competition will take hold and cable companies will either include the HD or lose customers to Dish or DirectTV. Let the market decide that one. Cable companies can say no to HD, but then their customers will say no the them. If they don't have the bandwidth, let them upgrade their network or switch to MPEG4.
