Wii: Is high-def more important then content?
O.K. we love high definition. Really, we do but how important is HD in games? Seriously, is high-def more important the content of the games. Some of the best games of all time relied on the story instead of graphics. Zelda, Mario, Civilization and the list goes on. Would a higher resolution improve the games...no; it would enhance the experience abet but would not add anything to the overall game. We are not questioning the fact that HD is great in games but would you trade a great overall gaming experience from the Nintendo Wii for a good game in high-def from the PS3? What if it cost more then twice as much?Just something to think about going into Nintendo's E3 press conference.

Great games like Super Monkey Ball and Zelda 2007? IF they started to deliver good games, it would be something worth considering. I had an XBox and will soon be purchasing a 360. I'm looking forward to playing the types of games I enjoy in HD--like Halo and Ninja Gaiden.

Yeah, res is nice and all, a fast, consistant frame rate is what pulls me in though. As for hooking up to my HD set though, it goes without saying that SD is fine for video games, but all new games need 16:9 support no matter what the console.
I think $250 or $300 for a Wii will kick the crap out of the other two because that's all I'm willing to spend on a game console, and I make a good living.

I just spent $3000 on a HD Plasma, and I have a choice between three consoles. One which will only deliver games, and the other two which might have the possibility to put that $3000 I spent on my plasma to good use.
I pick the later... after spending $3000k on a plasma, another extra $200 for an HD capable mutimedia platform is worth it.
People don't want HD consoles for the games, they want HD capability so that they have something other then a cablebox to deliver HD content. In two years Nintendo will be regretting the lack of HD support.

HD all the way! Need it for the 91" screen. Blocky SD is no fun at that size. Sure if your looking at a 27" screen SD is all you need.
