Sony Blu-Ray available for pre-order

We knew it wouldn't take long for Samsung's Blu-Ray player to have some competition and here it is. The new Sony BDP-S1 is available for pre-order on SonyStyle.com and Amazon and will set you back 1 large. Unfortunately the box isn't set to ship until July, which seems like a long time to wait on a pre-order. The odd thing is that the Samsung player will be out in May, but doesn't seem to be available to pre-order yet.
Have any of you pre-ordered a Blu-Ray player yet and if so from where?

Yeah I'll be pre ordering mine very soon now, its called the playstation 3 ^^

Only $1000? Oh yeah Im rushing out to buy this today! Rather, I think I'll invest $500 in the HD-DVD player. Why spend twice as much for a player that delivers the same image quality? 1080p? Who cares? You cant even buy a TV yet that accepts 1080p input. Youd have to be nuts to buy this thing.

Good poing $500 to watch 3 titles is money well spent.
I think I would rather pay double and have more of a selection.

#3. I guess if you are concerned with the NOW, you are correct, but seeing as both players will be around for years and both players will certainly have many titles, choosing one bases purely on selection of titles now is foolish.
Of course I think buying any player right now is foolish (unless your favorite movies happen to be among those being released).
I'm just puzzled how Sony can market a thousand dollar player with the PS3 coming out in November (presumably) that is supposed to be much cheaper than that.
Why would they undercut their own business? If Sony is putting out a $500 PS3, why not just release a Blu-Ray player for, say, $200? Of course, we have no idea what the PS3 price will be, and won't for some time. Microsoft didn't announce the 360 price until late July, early August of last year.
