1. Dish is now downrezzing all the Voom HD channels to 1280x1080i for no apparent reason except that DirectTv did it so they can too. They actually have plenty of bandwidth to do real HD.
2. Dish is not going to actually transmit in mpeg4 until their techs can figure out how to utilize it properly, which may be a year from now.
3. Dish is forcing it's HD subscribers to upgrade to mpeg4 receivers by tagging the 5 new Voom channels, ESPN2HD, & UHD with mpeg4 headers, when in reality the video is mpeg2.

These are the sad facts:
