CES: ATI demos CableCard, HDTV support for Windows Vista
If you want to get HD channels from your cable provider onto your PC, this is the news you've been waiting for. At
CES ATI has been
showing off OCUR (Open Cable Uni-directional Receiver), the first and only CableCard 1.0 (no bidirectional)
certified HDTV tuner. By all accounts, it's ready to go, and will ship when Microsoft launches Windows Vista later this year.

Good luck on getting a PCI tuner with CABLECard support for any OS besides Vista. Seriously, good luck.

I am ready to buy barring some insanely high price tag.

Who cares about this for Winblowz?
I want this for my Mac OS X machine NOW! I hope Apple is working with ATI on this as well or will release something like this in 2 days built in to a new OS X Media Center Mac at MWSF....

I keep hearing people saying that they want apple to make their own type of media center, and that they won't use microsoft's. Why? Its far from perfect, but its still very very good, and keeps getting better. I wish people would stop being so brand loyal and not close minded to anything that is microsoft, or apple, etc. I'll take something that has years of development over a program that is new most of the time.

I agree to this ideea: people would stop being so brand loyal and not close minded to anything that is microsoft, or apple, etc.
