LCD TV prices just keep on falling

We all knew it was coming. The prices of LCD TVs were going to drop. Sure enough, they did. Two reasons: one, Christmas and two, demand is increasing. These TVs have had a great Christmas and they are reaching the point that everyone wants one; with the lower prices, almost everyone can afford them. The great news? They are going to keep dropping.
A "Street Price Survey" by DigiTimes shows that the price of 26-37-inch LCDs dropping up to a rate of 2.6% a month. Well, to be honest, it is the 32-inch segment that has that high of a percentage. 26 and 37-inchers are more like .8% and .4%. The report looks at plasmas and it is the same story. 42-inch plasmas are dropping 2.9% a month.
Did anyone pick up a great deal on a LCD or plasma this holiday season?

got a sceptre 37" 1920x1080 at costco.com for 1499. much better deal IMO than the westinghouse, as it includes an ATSC tuner. some small problems, but price can't be beat.
i think i saw a 37" syntax for 999 somewhere around thanksgiving weekend.

#3 - One thing worth mentioning, the 32" resolution is only 1366 x 768

I'd like a 37" with 1920x1080p resolution and LED backlighting for $1,500. Oh yeah, it's gotta have crt-like response time, deep blacks, and wide viewing angles. Can I pencil one in for Christmas '08 or is that too soon? Gee, by that time I guess SED will be dominating the market anyway. Oh well.

I picked up the "Westy" (Westinghouse) 37" at Best Buy Monday night. Had a coupon for 10% off plus they offered a $100 dollar gift card in the weekly ad. They didn't want to give the Gift card with the 10% off but when I turned around to walk away they took another $100 off the price. My budget was 2k and I walked out the door with a 4yr extended warranty plus tax for just under 2k. I'm sure it will be even cheaper after Xmas but right now I cannot complain. I didn't care about the lack of a built in tuner since I have DirecTV and no matter what you do with a satellite service you still need a set top box.

"demand is increasing" == lower price..???
Did someone miss Economics 101? Increased competition and/or increased production might lower price in a market but increased demand should *raise* prices, right?
