King Kong too dark on the Xbox 360?
Stunning. That's what King Kong on the Xbox 360 in
high-definition is; simply stunning. There's only one problem: you can't see
it! Well, usually you can, but some of the scenes are so dark that folks are
apparently unable to play the game on SD sets.
Ubisoft boss Yves Guillemot admitted that the 360 game is too dark on standard TVs because the developers used particular settings on their HD monitors. The overly-dark scense now make the game nearly impossible to play in some sequences. "I'm a bit disappointed that we didn't see it when we were developing the game," was the comment from the bossman.
Hey Yves, you didn't see it during development and now players on SD sets can't see it when they play, so it's all good, right? Maybe Ubisoft should ante up some HDTV sets for folks that plunked down $60 for a game they really can't play. Hopefully, the company will at least consider game refunds; makes me thankful for my HD set....ahhhh.....

Well its good to see developers are using the full range of colors available on HD sets. Some people just have their SD sets too damn dark to begin with anyway.

Serves them right for using an SD TV!.
Of course I am kidding. This isn't a big deal, all they have to do is turn up their brightness.
We used to do this when I was kid so we could see the secret passages in Final Fantasy 2.

Maybe they should have had an "Only for HDTV" logo on the box.
