Somewhere I heard that the PS3 was suppose to have a life span of something like 10 years, I really cant remember where I heard that but you can imagine that in the next 5 years 1080p TVs will more available and cheaper. The PS3 has a lot of new technology in it already: Cell processor, Blu-Ray, 2 HDMI cables?!? (a lil skeptic of that...), and of course 1080p. So yeah, now 1080p sounds a lot like a "mine's is bigger than yours" battle but we all know how fast technology advances, so 1080p is more of an investment in the future.
