Interesting, but seeing that I already have a TV bearing the HDTV logo and all available broadcast content is 720p/1080i, I have to wonder why 1080p is important to me. Pop over to the Sony site and check out the 40" LCD KDL-V40XBR1. Part of the Bravia series, the native resolution of this is 720p. Step up to the WEGA Plasma KDE-42XBR950 and you get 1024x768 resolution. No HDMI either. I could go on, but the only 1080p product I found on the Sony site is the VPL-VW100 which is a front projector with a list price of $10k. But at least you get HDMI, since this seems to be a requirement for the PS3. Don't get me wrong, I love HDMI and my set has it, but there aren't that many 1080p products out there and the affordable ones don't have HDMI. If the true HD era means $10k displays then I can wait. And enjoy the current era now. 1080i is nice, 720p is nice. Less than $1000 for my HD set was nicer.
