There are some pretty good alternatives in the 37" LCD market that cost a good deal less than the Dell (Westinghouse, Samsung, & BenQ spring to mind and I think you can get a Sharp 37" for the same price).
Also, I hope that Dell is planning on driving the price (for the LCD as well as the 50" plasma) down pretty soon. Their main difference when they decided to do TVs was cost difference since they just rebadged someone else's panels (LG's in this case, I think). Besides, their last iteration of TVs (42" plasmas) developed some pretty annoying problems that are detailed heavily over at AVS forum (flicker, loud buzzing) so hopefully, all those kinks are worked out.
