I want my MTV in HDTV!
Oh, the early 80's, I remember them well. We had just received this large tan box that we were renting. It wasn't much to look at: just a membrane-style numeric keypad and a red LED digital display. We turned it on and what did we see (and pay for)? A bunch of musicians with big eyeglasses singing "Video Killed the Radio Star." again and again and again. Yes, I witnessed the birth of MTV.Now you can witness it's rebirth in high-definition this coming January. A new channel, MHD, will be born and is going to feature content that is perfect for HD. Concerts and videos in HD and Surround Sound are perfect ways to feature high-def programming. January 16, 2006 is the expected due date for the new MTV baby. Let's just hope they don't screw it up with follow-up channels like MHD2 and VH-HD!

Anyone got any idea what providers will carry HDTV? I mean I had to wait two years to watch the Superbowl in HD because Adelphia did not have a contract with Fox to boradcast their HD. I still don't get TNT HD, UPN HD, Cinemax HD, and I am sure there are more that I don't even know I am missing. So, while I am glad to hear that MTV is coming HD, I will probably have to wait two years more for it to get on my channel line-up.
PS Does anyone else miss VOOM?
