I watch a lot more at home but I still visit the theater quite a lot. Mainly it's a social outting for me and my friends. There's just something about getting all together to go to the theater. Such as; watching the latest Star Wars films with friends in a packed movie theater on the opening day. When you visit the theater it's more of an event than just tossing something in the dvd player/laserdisc player/16mm projector.
If they released DVDs near the same time they hit the theater I imagine I would watch them at home instead. We would just have more movie nights at my house instead of the theater. How about charge $10 more for each DVD to get it at the same time as it hits the theater? That would work for me.
