34 reasons to watch HDTV

We counted 34 "fly-away" hairs on Marg Helgenberger's head that you would never see on an analog set. Trust us, we checked by snapping this picture from CSI last night on CBS in 1080i. We had to go back to our PVR on the non-digital set and guess what? No fly-aways on Marg!
Let us know if you're on the fence for an HDTV purchase; maybe we'll snap an occasional pic like this so you can see what you're missing! Yes, before you even ask: we have way too much time on our hands.

If anybody really wants to see what a difference HD can make, take in an Atlanta Braves game at Turner Field. The world's largest HDTV (71 x 79 FEET) showing replays and live action all in HD. You see individual beads of sweat; threads on jerseys, etc. I'm sure Mitsubishi has moved a fair amount of home HDs because of it.

We can't post a comparison pic this time around; we'reTV junkies too and we needed the space on our PVR! Maybe we can do this once a week or so: post a pic of a great HD program and then compare it to the same show in SD from our PVR, so folks know what they're missing. Thanks!

Can you post a pic from the standard def feed?
(note: I need no convincing, I'm already an HD junky.)

I like the idea of an on-going comparison!

Do a side-by-side (or top-and-bottom) comparison of something interesting (make that sexy) once in a while for folks who aren't junkies yet. You did say you have *way* too much time on your hand--what are you waitin' fer?

This is it. This page is what pushed me over the edge, and made my buy my first HDTV, the Samsung 30" slimfit. I LOVE IT!! I can now see how yellow Joel Siegel's teeth are, the weird pink & yellow lighting they use in the studio for Good Morning America, and I even found myself watching a beaver build a dam for 15 minutes the other day, just because the picture quality was so amazing (this is not normal behaviour for someone who lives in Manhattan, I assure you). If anyone is on the fence, I suggest you go for it!
