ATI powers JVC HDTVs

ATI LogoExpanding beyond their well known presence of computer graphic chips and cards, ATI announced that their chips will power a series of JVC HDTV units. JVC will use the Xilleon 226 from ATI, which is a complete all-in-one processing, graphics, video, audio, and I/O chip.

Models AV-56WP94, PD-50X795 and HD-61Z585 from JVC are ATI-powered, which shows some versatility in the ATI chip as all three models are different types of displays. The AV is a direct-view rear projection set, while the models PD and HD are Plasma and D-ILA displays respectively. Xilleon sounds like a great technology, plus we just gave you a good word for Scrabble at no extra charge.
